Elite Visual and Performing Arts Program was developed for students who desire to thrive academically while pursuing their passion for the arts.

The Elite Visual and Performing Arts Program (VAPA) offers Elite Homeschool and Virtual students unparalleled flexibility, individual support and resources to excel in both the arts and in school. They have the unique opportunity to learn and grow with the help and guidance of teachers who are as passionate for the arts as they are knowledgeable.

Meet VAPA Lead, James Fowler

James Fowler has been teaching and performing for 10 years at LACHSA Summer Arts Conservatory, County of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation, Theatrical Education Group, and the Down Town Reparatory Theatre Company. After studying at some of California’s most prestigious institutions of art including Los Angeles County High School for the Performing Arts, Berklee College of Music, American Musical and Dramatic Academy of the Arts, he spent a great deal of time on stage and on camera. Most recently he has been producing and casting features and television. What type of arts do you support?

Elite Academic Academy has no limits when it comes to the types of Arts that we support. If there is an Arts category that we do not currently offer, we have trained and well qualified industry level staff to offer any and all Arts opportunities. Tk-3 will be offered a blended Arts experience which currently includes Dance, Voice, Acting, Visual Art (Drawing and Painting), Musical Theatre, Music (Orchestral/Instrumental), and more. Grades TK-3

What can I expect if my child signs up for EVA?

The moment your child signs up with the Elite VAPA Program they will have instant access to the best of visual and performing arts in Southern California. Your child will thrive as instructors that specialize in arts with Tk-3 offer your child the foundations of the arts that are often missed in the traditional school setting. A blended arts path (A variety of arts courses including acting, dance, voice, music, visual art, musical theatre) is offered to students Tk-3. This allows for students to experience all types of arts subjects, giving them the opportunity to choose for themselves the eventual desired arts path.

What does my child have to do?

Your child should be prepared to learn, have fun and focus. Tk-3 is an important time for every young artist. It is at this age that some of the most foundational elements of the arts are instilled in a child such as taking direction, using imagination, understanding how art impacts society, and strengthening the artists mindset. There will be assignments that your child will need help with completing. If your child desires to excel in arts and academics they will need to spend some time practicing not just during school hours.

What is expected of me as a parent?

We expect each parent to support and nurture their child’s artistic and academic future. Elite Academic Academy makes it easier for you to do so with weekly office hours on Mondays and Fridays from 8:00am-1:00pm where parents can contact Visual and Performing Arts Lead James Fowler for VAPA Support. As an Elite Academic Academy parent, you are not only a big part of your child’s academic/arts life, but part of a community/network of parents who support one another for the betterment of Elite students. Parents are expected to enroll their child in Elite Academic Academy, as well as any other VAPA vendors or camps. Tuition at Elite is FREE ; as Elite Academic Academy is a public school. Parents are responsible for ensuring students are participating in academic coursework and making progress at their child’s grade level to participate in the VAPA electives.

Will there be in person support? Where?

There will be in person support at any vendor site. If a student is enrolled with the Elite Visual and Performing Arts Program they will attend arts courses where one of our qualified arts vendor instructors will offer the highest quality arts and education support. Visual and Performing Arts Lead, James Fowler will also be present often at vendor sites to offer support to both parents and students.

Does Elite offer educational funds for VAPA programs?

How much will this cost out of my Educational Funds?

What can I expect if my child signs up for EVA?

The moment your child signs up with the Elite VAPA Program they will have instant access to the best of visual and performing arts in Southern California. Your child will thrive as instructors that specialize in arts with 7-8 offer students the foundations of specific techniques associated to their chosen elective VAPA path. A conservatory arts path is offered to students grade 7-8 (A program that encourages students to focus on a particular arts path. This model is used by schools like LACHSA and OSCA. Students are expected to take the core courses of their specific arts path. If a student is taking acting in the 9th grade for instance, such student would be expected to participate in Acting 1a, Literature and Criticism, and Voice and Speech 1a.  If students are interested in a more blended arts approach, there are opportunities for such students.

It is at this age that students often begin to grow an understanding of the arts path of their desire. A conservatory arts path is offered to students grade 9-12. This path is specifically designed to prepare students for higher education in the arts and the professional industry. If students are interested in a more blended arts approach, there are opportunities for such students.

Students enrolled in the high school level EVA conservatory and blended arts program will be exposed to arts colleges/conservatory tours, scholarships, and more. Elite Academic Academy cares about the success of each student and offers an online course specifically for 11th-12th grade students to prepare them for Arts College Auditions for FREE!

General Questions

What is the difference between Elite's arts program, and other prestigious schools of the arts?

Elite Academic Academy strives to serve the needs of many students from various backgrounds. Our school does not turn students away. What makes us different is how our school is structured. Students have an opportunity to work on the professional level as there are less restrictions with the bulk of their course load being done in home and online.

What if my child enjoys the arts, but isn’t sure they have the talent to sustain through an arts program?

Students that enjoy the arts should be involved in the arts. Contrary to popular belief, talent is something that is built up and developed through training, dedication, and determination.

Will my child have exposure to exciting arts field trips and events?

All students at Elite Academic Academy will have access to incredibly entertaining, educational, and informative field trips/events. These field trips/and events include but are not limited to: Theatre productions, Dance shows, Museums, Vocal Concerts, Movies, Amusement Parks and more!

Can my child continue auditioning/working as a professional artist while attending Elite Academic Academy?

Yes. Because your child is getting the majority of their education done either at home or online, the opportunity to work professionally is far more realistic than that of traditional arts programs.
