The SOAR Initiative is an educational program designed for students who want to go above and beyond the traditional classroom experience and maximize their learning potential. Students will engage in authentic learning through collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Our program encourages students to explore their curiosities and push their boundaries, preparing them for future success in college and beyond. Crazy About Games – K-2
- If you love playing games then you will love this course! You’ll learn how all kinds of games work and then use what you’ve learned to design and build your own games from scratch. Games can be: card games, board games, sports games, paper games and/or digital games .
- Crazy About Games Overview
Game Play and Coding – 3rd-5th / will need free Scratch account
- Learn how to code by designing and creating your own games! You’ll start by creating your own board or card games, and then move on to creating your own digital games that you can play on a computer or mobile device.
- Game Play & Coding Overview
Game Designer Studio – 6th-8th / will need free Scratch account
- You’re no longer the player, you’re the designer! Learn how to design and build your own game, even if you have no coding or design experience. You’ll learn hands-on how to create and import your own assets and how to build games that others like to play.
