BOARD & LEADERSHIP

A Message from our CEO,

Ashlea Kirkland-Haynes M.A., M. Ed.

Elite Eagles,

It is with great excitement and deep gratitude that I officially welcome you to Elite Academic Academy. As your Chief Executive Officer, I am honored to serve a community that believes so strongly in educational innovation, personalized learning, and student empowerment.

At Elite, we believe every student deserves a flexible, engaging, and rigorous education that meets them where they are and guides them to where they want to go. Our mission is to provide a personalized, standards-based education that supports academic excellence, fosters creativity, and prepares students for college, career, and life success. Our vision is to revolutionize learning by empowering students to take ownership of their education while being supported by caring educators with a strong foundation of innovation and integrity.

I come into this role with a rich background in education, having served in various leadership roles across the independent study, charter schools, brick-and-mortar, and virtual learning sectors. My passion for student-centered learning, strategic program development, and equitable access has guided my journey and I am thrilled to bring that experience to Elite. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible educators, mentors, families, and students, and I am continually inspired by what is possible when we provide the tools, relationships, and support systems our students need to thrive.

Elite is more than a school-it’s a movement. Together, we will continue to expand opportunities for all learners through our innovative CTE pathways, SOAR Advanced Academics program, high-quality curriculum, rich extended learning programming, and commitment to excellence. Whether you’re a new family joining us this year or a returning member of our community, know that your voice matters and your potential is limitless.

Thank you for choosing Elite. I look forward to partnering with each of you as we continue to build a school where students don’t just learn, they lead.

#BeElite,

LCAP

The Local Control and Accountability Plan or LCAP is a critical part of California’s new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). It is a three-year, charter-level plan that is updated annually. The plan describes the school’s key goals for students as well as the specific actions (with expenditures) the charter will take to achieve the goals and the means (metrics) used to measure progress.

The LCAP addresses the needs of all students, including specific student groups, and all charters must specifically address English learners, foster youth, and low-income students. In addition, the LCAP must address the state of California’s eight priority areas that include student academic achievement, school climate, student access to a broad curriculum, and parent engagement. The charter school spending plan aligns to these academic priorities.

Title IX

The legislative intent of Senate Bill 1375 is to clarify Title IX requirements for public schools in California. The new law requires charter schools to post information on the school web site on or before July 1, 2021 identifying the school’s Title IX Coordinator, the rights of students and the responsibilities of schools, and a description of how to file a complaint. Title IX Coordinator: Ms. Meghan Freeman (866) 354-8302 ex 703.
